Speaking & Teaching
I speak on Grand Canyon geology, biblical archaeology, Egyptology, science, ancient history, museums, and the historical setting of Scripture.
My presentations grow out of direct experience in the places I teach about—more than 1,000 days in Grand Canyon National Park, more than 50 multi-day river expeditions, repeated work in museums and archaeological collections, and ongoing travel and research in Egypt and the United Kingdom.
The goal is straightforward: make complicated subjects clear, visual, memorable, and connected to evidence people can actually see.

FORMAT
Speaking formats
A talk can be a Sunday morning message, a conference session, a classroom lecture, a museum program, a podcast interview, an online event, or several sessions built around one subject.
I’m comfortable speaking to audiences who know the subject well and to people encountering it for the first time. Visuals, photographs, maps, artifacts, diagrams, and field examples are central to how I teach.
CONVERSATIONS & INTERVIEWS
Talking things through
I enjoy conversations where there is time to slow down, ask good questions, and work through a subject without pretending everything has to fit into a sound bite. That might be a podcast, classroom discussion, interview, or simply a group that wants to dig deeper into a topic.
COST & TRAVEL
Speaking fees & travel
I do not require a fixed speaking fee for most church and ministry events beyond reasonable travel expenses. Honorariums are appreciated when an organization normally provides them, but I would rather have a worthwhile opportunity to teach than make cost the obstacle.
University, conference, institutional, commercial, or specialized engagements can be discussed based on the event, travel, preparation, and scope.
